What are the challenges of social media advertising?

Social media advertising isn’t as easy as it looks, and it can be incredibly daunting for even the most social media savvy members of your team to execute. Developing proficient advertising campaigns that actually deliver tangible results is a whole area of expertise. For example, if you target demographics and your criteria is:

  • Born in 1948
  • UK born citizen and resident
  • Married twice
  • 2 children
  • Successful in business
  • In the 1%
  • Spend their winter holidays in the alps
  • Like dogs

You’d get Prince Charles and Ozzy Osbourne, two very different people.

Even if the campaign does deliver results, you must constantly refine and optimise it because remember, you’re also competing against your competitors!

This is why most businesses who enquire about social media ads with us end up becoming full time retainer clients; they trust in our expertise to deliver results for them.

Is social media advertising right for my business?

Social media advertising has been one of the most attractive marketing channels for the last 10+ years due to it’s low-cost advertising model and other benefits (see benefits of social media advertising above).

Depending on your business, platforms will differ in their suitability. For example, if you’re a B2C business, Facebook will be a more attractive option than LinkedIn. Alternatively, if you’re a B2B business, then LinkedIn will be the more attractive platform.

To make first-time advertisers feel safer, we encourage them to utilise our test ad service where we use a small budget of £40 to gather data and push for enquiries. With that data, we can create a detailed report on how far they can take their ads with us!

What does the discovery call entail?

During your discovery call with us, we’ll break down how our process works and ask you for some basic information such as who your ideal customer is and what your client qualification criteria looks like (if you have one).

Examples:

If you’re a financial advisor, your ideal customer may be recently retired business owners in the construction industry. In this case, your qualification criteria may be that they must have a minimum of £50k to invest and be comfortable leaving that money to accrue value for the next 5-7 years.

If you’re a piano instructor, your ideal customer may be people with a keen interest in the piano who live within 15 miles of you. In this case, your qualification criteria may be that students must have their own keyboards and a mode of transport to attend your lessons.

We’ll use your answers to make a mock advertising campaign for you during the call and give you some estimates as to what results you can expect from your social media ad!

How does the process work?

After gathering all the relevant information on your business and customers, we’ll request access to your account to create the advertising campaign for you.

Once we’ve created the campaign, we’ll schedule it to go live for a pre-determined time period and keep a constant monitor on its performance. As fresh enquiries come through, they’ll automatically be filtered into your CRM system or if you don’t have a CRM system, they’ll be emailed to you at the campaigns conclusion.

Now, with all your keen enquiries neatly laid out in front of you, all you have to do is give them a response!

Which social media platform is best for advertising?

Why is social media advertising so effective?

Social media advertising is the second biggest market in digital ads. In 2021, social media platforms reported a worldwide revenue of $153 billion and it’s not hard to understand why. Social media usage continues to dominate the digital landscape with a reported 3.6 billion people using social media, meaning everyone can reach their target market on social media.

Not just that, the turnaround time on creating and adjusting ads is incredibly fast, we can see data in real-time and make informed decisions to create much more effective advertising campaigns as opposed to traditional marketing channels. Think about how long it takes to design the graphic for a billboard, have it printed and installed, and then measure its performance… it’d certainly take a lot longer than one afternoon!

When you combine all this with the fact that social media advertising is one of the cheapest forms of advertising, you now have a low-cost solution to advertise to 50% of the world with the opportunity to make change and adjustments almost instantly!

Using social media advertising, we’ve generated 2,747 enquiries for our clients at an average cost of £4.03 per enquiry since September 2022.

What do you need from us?

Not much, we just need you to join us for a meeting so you can provide us access to your social media page (and create your advertising profile if you’ve never ran ads before) and provide us with the relevant information relating to your business, product/service, and target market.
Just to make sure to follow up with all your new enquiries!

How much should we spend on ads?

This is a circumstantial question that unfortunately doesn’t have a ‘rule of thumb’ answer. The answer largely depends on what you want from your ads. Start with your business goals and use those to define your marketing goals. From there, we can set a target for your advertising campaign.

To make first-time advertisers feel safer, we encourage them to utilise our test ad service where we use a small budget of £40 to gather data and push for enquiries.

With that data, we can create a detailed report on how far they can take their ads with us!

What ROI should we expect?

This is another circumstantial question that can only be answered after we’ve collected concrete data from your test ad.
